First picture is a scratch built abode made from foam card and coated with quick drying Polyfilla. A bit rough, but only a first attempt. Next pictures are the Special Forces range from The Scene-these are pre-varnish pics, because they never seem to be quite as nice once I have gloss then matt varnished them! Very nice figures to paint-plenty of detail and clean castings.
Here is the 'Arnie' figure from the set-obviously not from Predator (we wouldn't like to upset any franchises!)
My, I do like powerful guns, and this one will do nicely.......
.....and grenade launchers-what can I say?
Here is an Old Crow Gecko with a head conversion figure from GZG, gloss varnished, but not matt. I think I may have made an error by adding the MIG dirt pigment before spraying with matt varnish, but I'll soon find out.
These two minis are from the Critical Mass Games Mercenaries range (I think). Once again, excellent minis with crisp detail and clean casts. I love the Cyborg figure, and again, big gun!
Last, but by no means least, some of GZG's most excellent UNSC troopers- Jon produces a fantastic range of 15mm figures and vehicles as we all know and his service is seldom less than fantastic-thanks Jon. I've had a little dabble with some green stuff and wire to alter a couple of these. Some of it is a bit ham-fisted, but I can identify the squad weaponsa little easier. These have had their gloss coat, and are awaiting the matt one, and then the addition of some static grass. I used to use the loose stuff from various manufacturers, but on a bog that I follow (it was the Gruntz blog I think) I came across the 'pre-clumped' stuff from miniNatur, which I bought from Atenociti's
website.
I have been purchasing a lot of things recently, and would recommend all of the above companies for service and quality. I also found a company called SnMStuff, where I got the MIG pigments, and some Vallejo paints. Their service was excellent too, so I must give them a mention, and sorry to any I have missed out! Apologies, this is becoming an awards ceremony!
I must confess to pinching the colour scheme for the UNSC from Spacejacker, from his wonderful blog, and a little from Bug Man's blog. I'm a bit short on imagination, so why not learn from the masters?

First Pictures
Here are the first pictures I have taken of my 15mm miniatures.
First of all, some Peter Pig US Marines-picture a little dark I'm afraid. I'll get the hang of it. These are painted in a generic 'desert' colour with no camouflage, as I intend to use them for several theatres of war, and I'm probably pretty poor at paining camo at this scale!
Next, a couple of vehicles, again from PP-a rusty Toyota technical, and a shot up Mercedes taxi, the former gloss varnished but not yet matt varnished, and the latter just painted yesterday and as yet unvarnished.
Some Insurgents-PP and Flashpoint minis-
Finally, a few shots of some GZG 15mm figures-some with converted heads(I haven't got too ambitious yet). The utility 'truck' with the machine gun on the back will form part of a 'Hit and Run' squad, much like the SAS and LRDG from WW2.
I would welcome any constructive comments about the minis-I know the pictures are a little dark, I'll address that next time round, but I just wanted to get the blog up and running asap.
Next up, some Rebel Minis Fedayeen, and maybe a Brit WMIK!

About time to start!
23 July 2011
Hi! This is hopefully going to be a record of my wargaming exploits in 15mm. I intend to include images of painted figures, vehicles etc., reports of games played, and occasional reviews of the things I purchase and the service received, in fact, anything I can think of connected with the hobby. I have been inspired to start this having only recently become aware of all the fantastic blogs connected to this subject that are out there. My painting skills are pretty poor compared to most of what I have seen on the internet, and I'm new to the scale, so bear with me as I try to improve.
I have recently acquired a copy of Force On Force rules which I intend to use as my regular rule set, and am awaiting the Future Wars companion. I am currently painting US marines from Peter Pig, and Iraqi regular army troops and Fedayeen from Peter Pig, Flashpoint Minis, and am currently awaiting delivery of some Fedayeen and Foreign Insurgents from Rebel minis in the US. Vehicles from PP and QRF and some WMIKs from Old Glory (and some of their British Infantry and Taliban) are also on the painting agenda.
So, tomorrow I will take some photos of minis painted so far, and post them for comment or ridicule, or more hopefully for constructive criticism. Then I shall have to start devising my fictitious middle eastern country and develop a history for it that will generate some interesting scenarios. There will be a lot of mistakes to come!
